Can’t say today was too unproductive… I went to the new NGO, Baroda Citizens Council and am able to work there just need an official letter from AIESEC Baroda – which will take only God knows how long for them to write. So I went back to the office for internet and Skyped my mom; it went well for the most part. Dana finished work and came to the office so we decided to go to 7 Seas to get some food. I have to say of my experience here at least the food is delicious. I think if the food was bad I wouldn’t be able to stay… some stability and comfort is better than none. So lunch went well and Dana and I decided to head back to the office to figure out our internet situation and of course, to yell at people yet AGAIN, about our accommodation. From an air-conditioned space to a humid space – for those who know me, the transition is pretty much unbearable. I complained about the humidity and Dana made a comment about how we should hurry because it’s about to pour…
I thought she was kidding…
Literally less than a minute later the rain started and we had to take cover underneath a small motorcycle parking strip; two security guards let us gave us their chairs. Within 30 seconds, it went from raining to pouring. A slight gust blew more water onto us. We laughed and moved back, closer to the sardine packed motorcycles. A litter of puppies hid underneath, snugged with their mother. My feet started to feel funny and I realized that a puddle was forming. At this point Dana was soaked – white shirts and water is not a good combination! We waited for about 2 minutes before stumbling into a Domino’s Pizza shop giggling and screaming. Needless to say everyone stared and of course, didn’t find it amusing – but we did. Now we’re sitting and waiting for the rain to stop. I’ll try to check back in a few.
